Description
An Ariel view of a landscape scarred by the rigours of coal mining.
I spent twelve months living in North West New South Wales & the most direct way in and out of the area was through the mining belt in the Hunter Valley. The shocking contrast from fertile farming land & mountain ranges to scarified ranges pocked with craters dug deep to reap the profits.
I don’t care what side of the mining argument you stand on. I know we can do things better & we can leave a better planet for generations that follow.
Maybe if we apply & utlise the word “respect” when we consider our options for progress & development.
Respect for the planet as a whole
Respect for the immediate habitat
Respect for the flora & fauna
Respect for the Indigenous owners
Respect for the local communities
Respect for the future generations.
