Description
The name Lesser kelp came to me when I was walking on Beaumaris Beach in Tasmania with friends & taking photos of the leathery, giant kelp that had washed ashore.
“Lesser kelp'”represents the ebb & flow of the ocean & celebrates walking along our local beach and noticing the details in the ever changing supply of natural gifts delivered on each new tide.
Shells with multitudes of colours, or barnacled & grey.
Seaweed in a variety of shapes, some thin like rice noodles, others thick like banana leaves.
Driftwood seasoned by sun & salt water, barely a sign of its origin.
Stop and take time to look at the environment which we inhabit, you’ll realise that natures detail never fails to impress.
